SHORT AND CRISP SUMMARY WITH ANALYSIS AND THEMES:

1: Edmund Spenser was one of the great writers of Elizabethan era , the era in which Shakespeare sufficed and prospered, Edmund's sonnets are one of the great literary pieces available to us ever since the elibethan era and on this sonnet an Hollywood song is also composed naming 'one day I wrote her name' this tells the austerity ,impact and impression of the sonnet in the contemporary times.
Coming back to the short and crisp analysis of the sonnet the first line in the stanza itself sufficed the key theme of the sonnet that is to IMMORTALIZE his beloved, this theme was of the most prevalent themse in the Elizabethan times. The first line in the stanza tells us how he one day was constantly trying to imprint his beloved name on the beach upon the strand then the waves from ocean hits up the strands and washes everything away , The next stanza advocates us about how he again tried to do so but again failed due to same reason.

2: His beloved chatises him for his hubris and arrogance in making her IMMORTALIZE despite the fact that she is but a mortal woman like every other person on this planet even she came with a particular time which is assigned to her by God , she know that not even single part or her body be immortalized after death as she will decay and then his every effort will vain but for this particular fact she praises him ,his keen efforts just to IMMORTALIZE her name the name which will deteriorate after a particular time period.

3: With verses 9 and thereafter the poet ascribes us even after his constant efforts to IMMORTALIZE her name and getting failed in doing so. He uses another way a way which noone else could do so , he inscribed her name in his poetry and presented to us his beloved , in his verse he eternizes her virtues which are rare by doing he presents to us the virtual form of his beloved the beloved whom we remember till date in Edmund's verses and his last lines becomes true.

4:The line are in this jargon "where WHENAS death shall all the world subdue" "our love shall live & later life renew" these were the last lines from his sonnet one day I wrote her name and thus the true purpose of writing his beloved's name has been served by portraying her in his verses which we are studying today.

CRITICAL ANALYSIS & EXAM NOTES : TOUCH by MEENA KANDASAMI ( THE PRIVILEGE FOR UPPER CASTE)

THE POEM: Have you ever tried meditation? Struggling hard to concentrate, and keeping your mind as blank as a whitewashed wall by closing your eyes, nose, ears; and shutting out every possible thought. Every thing. And, the only failure, that ever came, the only gross betrayal— was from your own skin. You will have known this. Do you still remember, how, the first distractions arose? And you blamed skin as a sinner; how, when your kundalini was rising, shaken, you felt the cold concrete floor skin rubbing against skin, your saffron robes, how, even in a far-off different realm— your skin anchored you to this earth. Amidst all that pervading emptiness, touch retained its sensuality. You will have known this. Or if you thought more variedly, about taste, you would discount it—as the touch of the tongue. Or, you may recollect how a gentle touch, a caress changed your life multifold, and you were never the person you should have been. Feeling with y
